August is an eclipse turning-point month!
On August 12, Solar Eclipse in Leo (10º02’). This degree is symbolized by: “Children play on a swing hanging from the branches of a huge oak tree”. We may want to remember what happened to us in the month of August 2018, 1999, 1980, and 1961 when a similar degree was touched by Eclipses, as this will give us indications of what to expect. During the next 6 months, we are challenged to exert common sense, demonstrate our organizational skills, assume our responsibilities, and boost our self-confidence. Because worry is likely to affect our physical and emotional health negatively, it should definitely be banned. Feeling tired is the sign that we are not releasing something or someone we have outgrown. This eclipse encourages us to develop the warm, vital, playful, childlike side of our nature, uncover our unique creative talents, and seize opportunities for new beginnings. The time has come to have fun, enjoy pleasurable activities, and pursue a romantic relationship that rekindles our love for life.
The Solar Eclipse in Leo will be followed on August 27 by a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces (4º54’). This degree is connected to the following image: “A church bazaar”. We may look back to what we experienced in the month of August 2007, 1988, 1980, and 1969 when Eclipses occurred on the same, or exact same, degree. During the next 6 months, our feelings are our compass. The lid is being blown off on repressed emotional issues that are now ripe for release. Motivated to throw over unfulfilling conditions of our past, we are attracted to activities promising great excitement and adventure. We could leave a relationship that doesn’t enrich us anymore, move, change jobs, and pursue a new calling. Yet nothing may quite go as planned. Unforeseen issues could disrupt our finances, our home may need significant repairs, we could struggle to make decisions or be pulled in many directions simultaneously. But if we don’t answer the need for change, we shall find that our fears and doubts are magnified. This Eclipse reveals an extraordinary range of emotions. Our psychic abilities are particularly developed. We may attract a passionate soul relationship. The time has come to pursue our life purpose with enthusiasm, integrity, and faith.
Saturn remains retrograde this whole month till December 10. Its shadow period lasts until March 15, 2027. A month to re-evaluate our relationship to authority, assert our own mastery by tapping into the spiritual nature of life, show integrity, and in the face of possible temptations, develop the strength of our character.
Neptune is retrograde this whole month till December 12. Its shadow period remains until April 3rd, 2027. The degrees covered in August (4º16’-3º41’ Aries) are associated with the following images: “A triangle with wings” and “Two lovers strolling on a secluded walk”.
We are required to revisit what brings us balance as well as unity of our mind, body, and spirit, to follow our inspiration, and to enhance our creativity. Transformation, spiritual ascension, as well as divine protection are all in the cards if we follow heartfelt desires which uplift the consciousness of all in the most benevolent way. Venus enters Libra on August 6 till September 10. During the coming month, our need for luxury, comfort, balance and romance is intensified. A great time to pamper ourselves, enhance our physical appearance, and beautify our home. Non-confrontational and diplomatic in our social interactions, we seek companionships based on real affection and equality. Artistic endeavors are favored.
Mercury enters Leo on August 9 till August 24. During the next 3 weeks we seek the limelight and express our ideas rather dramatically, in colorful, positive ways, with cheerfulness and optimism. There is both dignity and refinement in the way we speak. Organized, confident, kind-hearted, and broad-minded, we carry our responsibilities with strength, good humor, and generosity. Our leadership abilities are enhanced yet may demonstrate a weakness for romance.
Mars enters Cancer on August 11 till September 27. During the next 7 weeks having a secure home base feels important. This cycle is perfect for buying a home or any kind of house repair. Overly sensitive to criticism, moody, impressionable, and easily threatened when challenged, we tend to retreat in a self-protective mode. Family troubles can deplete our energy. Regardless of our sex, and even if we don’t have children, we could go into supermom mode. While it is not easy to be straightforward in expressing our feelings, we should however endeavor to speak freely to avoid negative emotions spiraling into physical problems. More sensual than usual, our sexual feelings are very tied to our emotional needs. Water sports are encouraged.
Sun enters Virgo on August 22 till September 22. Focus, efficiency, a strong sense of selfless service, and attention to details mark this month. We derive much satisfaction from performing our duties well. Obsessions over perfection could lead to worry. A great cycle to study a topic that gives us practical skills, get a medical checkup, revamp our diet, and reassess our hygiene and exercise program. We took out as many blank sheets of paper as we had intentions and placed them near a window, on a balcony or in a garden so that they basked in the light of the Full Moon in Aquarius at exactly 7:36 AM. Once that moment passed, we gathered our Full Moon charged blank sheets and placed them in a folder until the next New Moon.
On Wednesday 8/12, take out your blank Full Moon charged papers and write on each a concise, positive intention. Place them on a balcony, in a garden or near a window so that they are out by exactly 10:37 AM for the New Moon in Leo (Solar Eclipse). Once that moment has passed, staple them together and put them away in a folder expecting the manifestation of all your dreams….
Next month’s intentional meditation starts on Thursday 8/27. Let us take out as many blank sheets of paper as we have intentions and place them near a window, on a balcony, or in our yard, to let them bask in the light of the Full Moon in Pisces (Lunar Eclipse) at exactly 9:18 PM. Active, original, even rebellious, quick, and unpredictable, we could argue just for the sake of asserting our difference. Yet jumping to conclusions without having sufficient information or practical experience could cause communication breakdowns. Nervous tensions, delays, frustrations, and eccentric goals make us waste valuable energy. In our attempts to resolve a difficult situation, we are likely to attract awkward predicaments that create even greater problems. Our circumstances could be out of sync, break our usual patterns of behavior, or expose us to explosive new information. Nothing is likely to turn out the way we planned. Haste, sudden interruptions, unexpected changes of plans, and a certain disregard for practicality do not make this a good day for traveling or completing projects.
