August 12, 2026: Solar Eclipse in Leo

August 2026 is an eclipse month. On August 12, Solar eclipse in Leo followed on August 28 by a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces (4º54’). Eclipses are always turning points. Their effects based on the house (area of our life) where they fall in our natal chart, are felt for about 6 months.

The August 12 at 10:36 AM PDT, Solar Eclipse falls at 20º02’ Leo. We may want to remember what we were going through in the month of August of 2018,1999, 1980, and 1961 when Eclipses happened at almost the same degree. This will give us an indication of what to expect now.

We are challenged to exert common sense, demonstrate our organizational skills, assume our responsibilities, and boost our self-confidence. Discipline, efficiency, seriousness, as well as steady, realistic, well-planned efforts build a solid foundation for our ambitions. Our conscientiousness, conservatism, self-control, and sense of duty lead to success and earn us the respect of others.

We may find it a little difficult to assert our thoughts and make decisions, yet any form of escapism is ill-advised. Worry should also be banned as it could negatively affect our physical and emotional health. We might even develop a food intolerance or a sensitivity to certain drugs or medications.

Procrastinating, an inability to take action, or feeling more tired than usual are signs that we are not releasing something (or someone) who is draining our energy or that we are holding on to hidden jealousies, resentments, or hostilities. Thinking or speaking too fast, a certain lack of discernment, romantic illusions, unrealistic fantasies or the possibility of deception and delusion could lead to sudden mood swings, relationship disappointments, conflicts, or in extreme cases, a nervous breakdown. Allowing each other plenty of room and freedom to be our unique selves, helps us to attract increased social activities, spontaneous friendships, and enjoy much popularity. A balanced, lively, exciting, and intellectually stimulating romantic connection could unfold in an unusual way. An existing relationship is rekindled by remembering and returning to its original flow, ease, and fun.

But even though this eclipse demands loyalty, reliability, and dedication, it also encourages us to develop the warm, vital, playful side of our nature. We could find that our emotions are more powerful, passionate, even dramatic than usual. Being admired and appreciated feels essential. The wisdom we gain from valuing ourselves, we can then generously share with others. We want to be able to take great pride in our family and our home.

Our mind is fertile, positive, and optimistic. We stand out by expressing our true talents. Inspired to study, travel, write, and channel our imagination in creative ways, we could gain all sorts of visionary insights into past and future social and political trends. Our  compassion, inspiration, and psychic gifts are enhanced, encouraging our spiritual development and, in some cases, even revealing deep cosmic truths.

We could be surprised by an unexpected financial windfall, or at the very least, improved monetary conditions rewarding past good actions and/or sensible investments.
